🦐 Frequently Bought Together
- All types of rice – hot Sinigang soup is almost always served with a bowl of white jasmine rice as a main course in the Philippines.
- Soy sauces – a quality light soy sauce serves as a great alternative for a final savory adjustment to the soup directly in the bowl.
- Chili sauces – spicy Sriracha or chili paste gives the sour tamarind broth that perfect warming kick.
💡 Foodland Tip: Put your chosen meat or shrimp in a pot with water to boil along with tomatoes and onion. When the meat is nearly tender, pour in the Sinigang tamarind mix and stir well. For the final few minutes, add vegetables (such as white radish, green beans, or spinach), remove from heat, and serve with rice!
