DOUBLE PANDA red annatto seeds, also known as achiote, are mainly used to naturally color foods in yellow-orange to reddish hues. In Vietnamese and Filipino cuisine, they are often briefly heated in oil to impart their color. The oil prepared in this way is excellent for rice dishes, marinades, soups and sauces.

🥗 Nutritional Values

🫗 Prepare annatto oil - add whole seeds to a small amount of oil and gently heat over low heat until the oil turns an orange-red color.

🥄 Drain the seeds - separate the colored oil from the seeds so that no hard pieces remain in the finished dish.

🍚 Color the rice – mix a small amount of annatto oil with the rice while cooking.

🍜 Finish the soup - add the colored oil to the broth or drizzle it over the finished noodle dish.

🍗 Important – do not burn the seeds when heating. Gentle heating is enough to get the color; they can become bitter at too high a temperature.
