Ozeki
Ozeki Corporation – Traditional Japanese Sake Producer (since 1711)
📍 Origin and History
Ozeki Corporation was founded in 1711 in Imazu, now part of Nishinomiya in Hyōgo Prefecture, within the Nada region – one of Japan’s most famous sake-producing areas. This region is renowned for its exceptionally pure Miyamizu water and fine rice varieties, ideal for premium sake brewing.
In 1964, Ozeki launched the revolutionary "One Cup Ozeki" – the first sake packaged in a single-serving glass. This concept changed sake consumption culture in Japan and became a market icon.
In 1979, Ozeki became the first Japanese sake producer to establish an overseas brewery – in Hollister, California (USA) – ensuring fresh sake supply to the U.S. market.
